Common Questions

Q: Do you work for McDonalds?
A: No. These sites were created to help fans locate the various food items.

Q: Why do you need our help? Can't you call every location and figure out where it is for us?
A: The Locator Maps team is made up of Alan and Kim (see below). With 14,122 McDonalds in the United States alone (2014 known stores) it would take us at least 235 hours (about 10 days) non-stop to call each location if each call was only a minute long. This amount of research would be enough for two full-time staff members! Even if we could, a location that confirmed over the phone that they have the McRib does not guarantee that they actually have it (see this post for more). Your assistance reporting and confirming McRib sightings is vital to the success of the website. Thank you in advance for your contributions.

Q: Why Food?
A: People seem to have a strong desire to find and consume food items that are not often available.

Q: Are there Android applications?
A: McRib Locator Android app

Q: Are there iOS applications?
A: We are in the planning phase, however the costs to release the application are a hinderance as iOS applications require a yearly renewal fee to be listed.

Q: Where can I report bugs/ideas for the website and/or mobile applications?
A: Contact us

Q: Where can I review the Android Application EULA?
A: Follow this link Privacy Information

Q: What do the icons represent?
A: The age and confirmation state of the sighting
